The sixth annual CONUL Conference entitled ‘Sense and Sustainability: Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability in Libraries’’ was held in the Clayton Silver Springs Hotel, Cork on May 24th and 25th 2023, following the return to the original annual in-person event in May 2022.
The conference was attended by 223 delegates who were fortunate to bask in early summer sunshine throughout the event when not busily attending sessions!
Keynote speakers were Rebekkah Smith Aldrich, Executive Director, Mid-Hudson Library System and Steven Gonzalez Monserrate, PhD candidate at MIT and their contributions were unanimously highly praised in conference feedback.
The programme was made up of two keynote presentations, one panel discussion, 15 parallel talks, 11 lightning papers, 5 show & tell presentations, 4 workshops, 4 sponsor talks, 1 quiz, and 12 posters. Satisfaction with the conference was very high. The workshops and quiz were new features for the Conference in 2023.
The #CONUL2023 hashtag trended nationally at several times during both days of the conference. Tweets from the official @CONULConf account generated 17k impressions over the two days and 47.5k impressions in the month of May.
Details of the 2024 CONUL Conference venue will be released shortly…
