Biography

Mairéad Mc Keown is the Manager of Knowledge & Critical Capability in Bord Bia – The Irish Food Board. She is responsible for managing the Library, internal insight, information literacy instruction and internal critical capability interventions in Bord Bia. Subject interests include knowledge engagement, information literacy, instructional design, sustainability and lifelong learning.

Mairéad is a Treasurer of the Library Association of Ireland’s Government Libraries Group and has featured in An Leabharlann, the electronic journal of the Library Association of Ireland. She is currently co-leading Bord Bia’s Business Critical Capability Programme – Championing Sustainability. She is a guest speaker for students of Info250 in San Jose State University. She has had a UNSDG story about how LIBRARIANS HELP TO FILL INFORMATION SKILLS GAPS IN THE AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SECTOR, published on the IFLA’s Library Map of the World.
